1. Bookings & Appointments

All bookings are subject to availability. When you book an appointment through our website, you will receive a confirmation email. Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice.

2. Pricing

Prices shown during the booking process are estimates based on the information you provide about your dog's breed, size, coat condition, and temperament. The final price may be adjusted on the day of the appointment based on the actual condition of your dog. We will always discuss any price adjustments with you before proceeding.

3. Your Dog's Welfare

Your dog's safety and comfort are our top priority. We reserve the right to stop or modify any grooming session if we believe continuing would cause stress or harm to your dog. In such cases, a partial charge may apply.

4. Health & Vaccination

All dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations. Please inform us of any health conditions, allergies, skin sensitivities, or behavioural issues before the appointment. Dogs showing signs of contagious illness may be turned away for the safety of other animals.

5. Matting & Coat Condition

Severely matted coats may need to be clipped short for the comfort and welfare of your dog. We will always discuss this with you. Additional charges may apply for heavily matted coats due to the extra time and care required.

6. Cancellation Policy

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee. We understand that emergencies happen and will always be reasonable.

7. Liability

While we take every care with your dog, grooming occasionally reveals pre-existing conditions (such as skin irritation hidden under matting). We are not liable for pre-existing conditions discovered during grooming. We are fully insured for professional dog grooming services.

8. Collection

Please collect your dog promptly at the agreed time. If you are running late, please let us know. Dogs not collected within a reasonable time may incur additional charges.

Privacy Policy

Waves & Wags takes your privacy seriously and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect: When you book an appointment, we collect your name, email address, phone number, postcode, and details about your dog including name, breed, sex, date of birth, coat type, coat condition, and temperament. If you create an account, we also store a securely hashed password.

Lawful basis for processing: We process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interest (to deliver and manage grooming services you have requested) and consent (for marketing communications, if you opt in). You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

How we use it: Your information is used to manage bookings, send appointment confirmations and reminders, maintain your dog's grooming history to provide better service, and look up your details when you return so we can speed up future bookings.

Data storage and security: Your data is stored securely on our booking system hosted in the United Kingdom. Your data is not transferred outside the UK. Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard hashing. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or damage.

Data sharing: We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited data with Google Calendar for appointment scheduling and with our email service provider for sending booking confirmations and reminders. These processors are bound by data protection agreements.

Data retention: We retain your personal data for as long as you are an active customer. If you have not made a booking for more than 3 years, we will securely delete your personal data unless there is a legal reason to retain it. Booking records may be retained for up to 6 years for accounting and legal purposes.

Cookies: Our website uses only essential cookies required for the booking system to function (session management and returning visitor recognition). We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.
